2026 Reelection Announcement

I’m proud to officially announce that I’m running for reelection to the Fayetteville City Council, Ward 4, Position 1!

For the past eight years, it has been an honor to represent our community. I remain committed to thoughtful growth, strong neighborhoods, sustainable practices, adequate infrastructure, and ensuring every Fayetteville resident has a seat at the table.

In this video, I share more about my connection to Fayetteville, my experience on the City Council, and why I’m asking for your support once again.

Election Day is November 3. Together, we can preserve the character and quality of life that make Fayetteville such a special place to call home.

It’s all about community, and I hope I can count on your vote!

Lake Fayetteville - A Diamond in the Rough

Lake Fayetteville has been an important part of our community for generations. It’s a place where families walk, bike, paddle, row, and enjoy the natural beauty that makes Fayetteville so special. But today, the lake needs our care and attention.

During my eight years on the Fayetteville City Council, I have consistently advocated for improving Lake Fayetteville’s water quality and infrastructure while working with city staff and organizations like the Illinois River Watershed Partnership.

As I run for reelection to represent Ward 4, Position 1, I remain committed to bringing Fayetteville, Springdale, and our community partners together to protect this treasured resource. With creative thinking and responsible planning, we can help Lake Fayetteville shine again—and work toward a future where our children and pets can safely enjoy its water.

It’s all about community, and I hope I can count on your vote on November 3!

Ramay Junior High — Protecting Fayetteville’s Urban Forests

The site of the new Ramay Junior High was once a wooded hillside with mature trees, some more than 120 years old. Today, those trees are gone. Their loss raises concerns about erosion, stormwater runoff, and how we protect the natural beauty that makes Fayetteville special.

During my eight years on the Fayetteville City Council, I consistently voted against the rezoning and this large-scale development. I believed flatter sites with fewer trees and less traffic deserved fuller consideration. Our community needs thoughtful planning that supports our schools while protecting our urban forests.

As I run for reelection to represent Ward 4, Position 1, I remain committed to preserving our tree canopy and advocating for more sustainable development. In this video, I share why this site matters and what it means for the future of our neighborhoods.  Let’s keep Fayetteville funky, forested, and a cool place to live. I hope I can count on your vote on November 3!  —Teresa

Fayetteville’s Blueway — Restoring Our Waterways and Expanding Outdoor Recreation

Creating a blueway has been one of my goals since joining the Fayetteville City Council. The dam featured in this video stands in the way of that vision. It poses a safety hazard for canoeists and kayakers and prevents fish and other aquatic life from moving freely through our waterway.

For several years, we’ve been working with state and federal partners to identify grant funding that, alongside bonds passed in 2019, can support removing the dam and restoring the streambanks and natural ecology. My hope is that by the end of 2027, the dam will be gone and Combs Park will offer a place to launch and take out boats.

As I run for reelection to represent Ward 4, Position 1, I remain committed to protecting our waterways and creating more opportunities to enjoy Fayetteville’s great outdoors. I can’t think of a better way to spend a spring Sunday than floating toward Beaver Lake and enjoying the natural beauty around us.

Let’s keep Fayetteville funky, forested, and a cool place to live. I hope I can count on your vote on November 3!

Deane Solomon Development — A Conversation About Fayetteville’s Future

How Fayetteville grows matters to all of us. We need to consider carefully how each development will affect the people who live here and the natural spaces around them.

In my newest video, I share my perspective on the Deane Solomon development and why thoughtful planning matters for our neighborhoods.

As I run for reelection to represent Ward 4, Position 1, I remain committed to protecting the character of our community and advocating for more sustainable development.

Let’s keep Fayetteville funky, forested, and a cool place to live. I hope I can count on your vote on November 3!
